We expect volunteers to work a minimum of 8-9 hours over the weekend.
Complimentary Camp Ticket: Once your application has been accepted & approved, you will be issued with a complimentary camp ticket in exchange for your volunteer hours worked. You will be issued with a special code to buy your ticket. Please note that the code will only apply to yourself & no other person. The complimentary ticket gives you full access to the camp & all of its workshops.
Complimentary Volunteer Lunch: Held on the Friday at 12:30pm of the camp weekend is another benefit for volunteers. It gives us a chance to socialise, meet the committee & start new friendships.

PRE-CAMP SITE SETUP
Thursday Pre-camp set up.
Volunteers will be able to access the camp from 9am on Thursday (of the camp weekend) to start their shift at 2pm
Friday Pre-camp set up
Volunteers will be able to access the camp from 4 pm Thursday to start their shift at 9am Friday. Volunteers will need to have a good level of fitness as our camp is a bush camp with uneven surfaces. A lot of walking is involved & you will be on your feet for most of the shift. Some ladder work may also be involved specially for hanging decorations & you may be asked to carry or move light weight items

WASH AGAINST WASTE ASSISTANTS
As part of Rosewood’s aim to be a ZERO LANDFILL camp we have hired a dishwashing station for all crockery & cutlery for those who have purchased catered meals.
Position Description
You will be working in pairs & receive comprehensive training from your Team Leader.

Assisting Team Leader to implement current Covid regulations.
Cleaning of communal toilets & bathroom facilities (excluding portaloos).
You’ll be working in pairs, sharing the cleaning duties throughout the day. This task has some flexibility in its time frame allowing you to enjoy your chosen workshops.

Assisting tutors in their workshop, MC for concerts, dance calling, stage management, crowd control, setting up venues for concerts, assisting the sound production team.

MONDAY PACKDOWN (9am to 1pm)
Position description
This is an important job. It is not onerous, but we do need dedicated hands to help pack away and store our equipment in the shed to be ready for next year’s camp.
You MUST be available on Monday from 9am to 1 pm.
If you need to leave early, please select another area.
Pack down is usually a much quicker process than setting up the camp site.

Position Description
- Assist team leaders to set up workshop spaces, self-catering kitchen & dining room areas, decorate venues, signage placement as well as other incidental requirements. All hired marquees will be erected by the hire company
As described below but not limited to:
- Main marquee: setting up the stage area, chair placement
- Decorating team: All venues, Kids Craft, Makerspace
- Signage placement: as directed by a team leader for venues, camping grounds, dining area, accommodation bunk rooms & other areas around the camp. On Friday signage to be placed on the roadway leading into camp.
- Green Room: attached to main marquee. Setting up trestles for instrument storage.
- Breezeway Self-Catering Kitchen. Making the area tidy, setting up tables & chairs & basic cooking equipment (i.e. single burner butane gas cookers, toaster & kettle, provided by Charnwood management).
- Setting up first aid & sanitation stations.
WELCOME TENT & TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT:

Position Description
- You will be working in pairs. One pair will be at the Welcome Tent situated at the entrance to the camp.
- The other pair will be stationed at the bottom of the hill to direct traffic to relevant camping areas or bunkhouse accommodation.
- You will be given & instructed in using a 2-way radio to communicate between camp entrance volunteers & the traffic controller volunteers. A special channel will also be set up to contact your Team Leader, should problems arise.
- Welcome all arrivals with politeness, enthusiasm & respect. Remember, you are the first point of contact for our camp.
- Familiarise yourself with the printed information that you will be handing out.
- Printed information to handout: Camp Map, which will also contain the weekend program.
- Direct attendees to check in with the traffic controllers at the bottom of the hill to receive further instructions about their camp accommodation.
- Remind all arrivals that after setting up their camp, all members of their party must register in person at the Registration Office, found near the dining room.
CATERING ASSISTANTS
Position Description
Assisting our caterer & staff with meal service & maintaining cleanliness in the dining areas
Duties
As described below but not limited to:
- Arrive 15 min before meal times
- Assist with plating & serving meals
- Collecting meal tickets
- Cleaning tables & monitoring & emptying compost bins in dining areas
- Helping to maintain an orderly queue at meal times
- A final clean & tidy check at the end of each meal time.

- Guiding participants to wash, rinse and place dishes and cutlery in dishwasher racks
- Loading and unloading the dishwasher
- Refreshing the station
- Returning clean crockery and cutlery to the kitchen and coffee van

- Maintaining cleanliness of communal bathroom, showers & toilets throughout the weekend
- Monitoring that communal toilets have sufficient toilet paper & bathrooms have soap & hand sanitizer.
MUSIC SUPPORT TEAM
Position Description
Assisting tutors in their workshop, MC for concerts, dance calling, stage management, crowd control, setting up venues for concerts, assisting the sound production team.
Duties
- Assisting Instrumental Tutors: Musical competency in an instrument is mandatory. Helping with tuning the instrument & assisting students to grasp what is being taught. It is expected that you will use your initiative to provide assistance to students where it is required.
- Venue Set up: Saturday morning chair placement in workshops, Sunday afternoon setting up main marquee for Sunday Concert
- Sound Assistant: Under the supervision of our sound engineer. Suitable for those with an interest/experience in sound engineering
- Stage Management: Friday & Sunday night concerts. Setting up the stage for the performers & working with the sound crew.
ART & SUNDAY PARADE
Position Description
- Assisting the art tutor to deliver their workshop and helping participants to realise the planned artwork for the Sunday parade
- The role is suitable for those who enjoy craft work, learning something new & having fun with young & old. A willingness to put in extra time to help the art tutor to finish off the project for the big Sunday parade is also appreciated.
- As directed by the art tutor
KIDS CRAFT
Position description & Duties
- Assisting the tutor with various craft activities that have been planned for the children. The Kids Tent is open each morning from 10am-12noon
- The role is suitable for those who enjoy or have skills in craft activities for younger children.

- It’s important to follow instructions from the team leaders as certain items need to be stored correctly & in the right order.
- Dismantling the camp & tidying up the area.
- Clearing of all venues (decorations & stacking chairs), greenroom & storing Rosewood equipment as directed.
- Collecting signage & grouping like with like (ready for next year’s camp).
- Packing up the breezeway self-catering kitchen
- Tidying up the dining room & balcony
- Note: The hired marquees will be dismantled by the hire company
