Where is Rosewood Held?
Rosewood Music Camp is held at Charnwood Outdoor Centre, deep in the beautiful Strathbogie Ranges in north of Victoria. The formal address is 1450 Lima East Rd, Lima East, VIC 3673 and it's about 35 minutes drive west of Benalla. Once you get to Benalla take the Midland Highway (B300) eastwards heading to Mansfield. When you get to Swanpool you will need to turn right and head towards Lima East. Closer to the camp the roads are unsealed often with uneven surface and narrow. Drive carefully along this section of the road and watch out for oncoming traffic. As you get closer to Charnwood you will see some signs pointing out where to go.
Once you get to Charnwood's entrance you will find the "Welcome Tent" where our volunteers will greet you. They will direct you to the camp ground or parking area appropriate for your accommodation for the weekend. You will also be advised where the Registration office is located. There can be some delays here as lots of people arrive on the Friday afternoon so please be patient if you have to wait!
Held every September, one of the colder months, nights get pretty cold so you need to come well prepared. The weather can be beautiful and it can be wet and foggy so please check the weather reports (preferably for the Benalla region) and BE PREPARED! You may well need gumboots and raincoats or umbrellas.
The setting for Rosewood is stunningly beautiful, deep in a ferny valley with a creek running beside the campsite.
Be aware that there's no mobile phone or internet reception at Charnwood! However there is a landline in the office of Charnwood's manager for emergency calls only.
